The notebook chassis (or case) holds the internal components of the computer. An integrated |keyboard| is permanently attached as well as a hinged |monitor| or integrated display. Other components of the notebook chassis include: the disk drive apertures, activity lights, air vents, power switch, reset button, battery housing, and connectors.
Though somewhat limited in power and scope, the notebook's size, weight, and portable power supply make it ideal for anyone who wishes to perform computations in the field. In contrast to the |desktop| and |tower| style cases, the notebook chassis is not meant to be opened by other than trained repair technicians (doing so often voids the manufacturer's warranty).
